BSU students participate in clean-energy conference

Three Bemidji State University students are presenting at the Community-Driven Clean Energy, the 2013 conference of Minnesota’s Clean Energy Resource Teams held in St. Cloud, Minn.

Clean Energy Resource Teams are a statewide partnership with a shared mission to connect individuals and their communities to the resources they need to identify and implement community-based clean energy projects.

The conference deals with the exploration and celebration of successful energy efficient and renewable energy projects. The conference’s attendees are collectively focused on creating a clean energy future in their communities and beyond.

The BSU students – Alexandra Miller, a sophomore in environmental studies from Dilworth; Ashley Phoenix, senior in environmental studies from Bemidji; and Dylan Sievers, senior in environmental studies from Park Rapids – are presenting at a workshop entitled “School Efficiency: Energized for Savings.” The workshop focuses on innovative projects happening in schools across Minnesota, how those projects involved students and the community in benchmarking, energy efficiency and other factors.

In total, four Bemidji State students are attending the conference.
