Bemidji Concert Series features pianist Uriel Tsachor

Internationally active soloist, chamber musician and award-winning pianist Uriel Tsachor will perform a solo piano recital as part of the Bemidji Concert Series, Oct. 18 at Bemidji State University.

The concert is open to all audiences and will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Thompson Recital Hall in the Bangsberg Fine Arts Complex. Tickets for adults are $10, senior citizens (62 and above) are $5. Students may attend at no cost.

This season Tsachor is scheduled to perform in Brussels, Hong Kong and Tel Aviv and on major university campuses in the United States, including Bemidji State.

Tsachor is an artist teacher and professor of music at the University of Iowa. He has performed throughout the world and has produced dozens of CDs. For his concert at BSU, he will perform major works by Frédéric Chopin and Robert Schumann.

After the performance, Tsachor will teach a master piano class to Dr. Stephen Carlson’s piano students. He will then be leaving the country to perform in Europe and Israel, where he will perform by invitatino with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also performed with prestigious European orchestras.

Since his Lincoln Center debut with the New York City Symphony, Tsachor has performed throughout the United States as recitalist and soloist, as well as performing with orchestras and chamber musicians. Tsachor has performed in major halls such as Salle Gaveau in Paris, Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels and Avery Fisher Hall in New York.
