MnSCU board to adopt “Charting the Future” recommendations

On Wednesday, Nov. 20, the Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities will vote on a set of strategic recommendations that call for the system’s 31 colleges and universities to significantly increase collaboration to improve access, increase affordability and better serve students.

The recommended strategies will position MnSCU to deliver on the three commitments articulated in a strategic framework adopted by the board in Jan. 2012 and effectively address the challenges facing higher education.

Following the board meeting, students, faculty, staff, college/university presidents and trustees will be available to discuss the recommendations, the trends that are behind them, and the benefits they offer for students, communities and taxpayers.

The meeting, which will be held at the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system office at 30 7th Street E., Suite 350, in St. Paul, Minn., will be streamed live online at http://www.minnstate.edu/board.

The board meeting begins at 1:30 p.m. with a Board of Trustees session on the strategic recommendations, followed by the full board meeting at 2:30 p.m. System personnel and others will be available for questions from the media beginning at 4 p.m.
