• Completed four year degree (B.S. or B.A.) degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution.
• Complete the Online Admission Application
• Submit a 500 word essay titled “Why Teach?”
• Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5
• Minimum 2.5 GPA in content courses transferable in license seeking area:
  • Chemistry
  • Earth and Space Science
  • Life Science
  • Physics
  • Communication Arts and Literature
  • Mathematics
  • Physical Education
  • Health
  • Social Studies
  • Technology Education
  • Teaching English as a Second Language (SCSU Partnership)
  • *Special Education
    *Individuals seeking a licensure in Special Education connect directly with the Special Education Department
• Submit all official transcripts to the graduate school grad@bemidjistate.edu
• Complete our D2L Brightspace MAT-FasTrack Student Orientation module prior to registration
• Attend our in-person New Student Orientation held 9:00 am-12:00 pm the Saturday before the BSU semester starts. There is a zoom participation option if you are not available to attend in person.
• Attend mandatory virtual meetings with your course instructors 3-4 times per year
