Isaiah Tramm and Steeve Eloundou, senior nursing students at Bemidji State University, were recognized with the Sanford Health Rock Star Intern Award following their participation in the 2025 Sanford Health summer internship program.
This past summer, 11 nursing students from Bemidji State gained hands-on experience through internships at Sanford Health sites across the region. The Rock Star Intern Award honors students who demonstrate exceptional professionalism, leadership and patient care during their internships.
For Tramm, the recognition carried deep personal meaning.
“Receiving the Sanford Health Rock Star Intern Award was an honor that affirmed the hard work and dedication I have put into providing quality patient care,” he said.
“The recognition showed that my effort and education are making a meaningful impact on the lives of others.”
Lessomo Eloundou shared a similar sense of gratitude and pride.
“Receiving the Sanford Health Rock Star Award was a reminder that hard work always pays off and compassion truly makes a difference in people’s lives,” he said.
“I enjoyed my internship experience, immersing myself in real-life situations while improving my nursing skills. Although the lab setting here at BSU differs somewhat from a hospital setting, my training has effectively prepared me for success. I am grateful for my instructors in the nursing department for their role in shaping future competent nurses.”
Danielle Mayer, Tramm’s supervisor at Sanford Health, said his passion for nursing was evident from day one.
“Isaiah demonstrated strong initiative and a genuine eagerness to learn during his time in the ICU,” Mayer said.
“He actively participated in patient care, asked thoughtful questions and showed a solid understanding of critical care principles. Staff, patients and families consistently recognized his dedication and compassion.”
Both students embody the spirit of nursing through their compassion, skill and resilience.
Their recognition as Sanford Health Rock Star Interns highlights not only their personal achievements but also the strength of Bemidji State’s nursing program in preparing students to lead with confidence and heart in the healthcare field.
