OPC to lead Oct. 18 hike on North Country Trail

BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University’s Outdoor Program Center (OPC) will lead a hike along a local portion of the North County Trail on Saturday, Oct. 18.

At 4,600 miles long, the trail is being developed across seven northern states: Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York. In Minnesota, the trail will connect Lake Superior with Itasca State Park.

The OPC group will tour up to five miles of the trail.

The trip is free and open to the public, and the OPC will provide transportation and snacks. Interested participants are asked to contact the OPC office in advance to reserve a spot and to confirm the trip’s departure time.
