OPC leads Nov. 1 hike to Itasca State Park

BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University’s Outdoor Program Center (OPC) will lead a hike in Itasca State Park on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10-3 p.m.

The group will hike five to seven miles on a trail within the park that contains the headwaters of the Mississippi River.

Participants are asked to dress appropriately for the weather and for walking. The trek is open to the public, but the OPC asks those interested in this trip to register in advance.

Cost is $5, which covers transportation from the OPC’s boathouse in Bemidji’s Diamond Point Park and a light lunch. A van will leave campus at 9:30 a.m.
