Talley Gallery presents faculty show through July 2

BEMIDJI, Minn. —  Students in Bemidji State University’s Department of Visual Arts will present its 2009 summer Visual Arts Department Faculty Show in the Talley Gallery of Bemidji State’s Education Arts Complex through Thursday, July 2.

The show will feature the work of Butch Holden, professor of visual arts, ceramics; Natalia Himmirska, assistant professor of visual arts, painting; Linda Brown, adjunct instructor, jewelry; Jason Clark, assistant professor of visual arts, printmaking; Terry Garrett, adjunct instructor, collage and books; Steve Sundahl, associate professor of visual arts, sculpture; and Vivienne Morgan, photography.

In addition to their teaching responsibilities at the University, each member of the visual arts faculty featured in the show maintains an active role in the local art community through shows, workshops and involvement in professional organizations to promote the arts.

The faculty show also allows current and prospective art students an opportunity to get to know the department’s faculty. The show will re-open in the fall, and the participating faculty members will give a gallery talk on Wednesday, Aug. 26.

Located in room 212 of the Education Arts building on the campus of Bemidji State University, the Talley Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery is barrier-free and is open at no charge to the public.
