Trombone Choir to hold free Nov. 18 concert

BEMIDJI, Minn. (Nov. 6, 2009) — The Trombone Choir, an ensemble made up of musicians from Bemidji State University and from Bemidji and other surrounding communities, will hold a free concert Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held in the Main Theatre of the Bangsberg Fine Arts Complex on the campus of Bemidji State University.

The concert will feature a group of 12 trombones, including three current Bemidji State students. The choir includes Matt Custer, Ben Fleming, Jeff Johnson, Alyssa Konecne, Paul Mork, Tom Patnaude, Hyram Price, Steven Radley, Glenn Seibel, Melissa Stover, Nancy Sydow and Les Torgerson.

Custer is a senior in music/liberal arts from Grand Rapids, Minn.; Fleming is a junior with a double major in music/teacher certification and music/liberal arts from Edina, Minn.; and Radley is a sophomore in music/liberal arts from Luverne, Minn.

The three Bemidji State students, along with Johnson, Seibel and Konecne, will each have solos during the concert.

The Trombone Choir is sponsored by the Department of Music at Bemidji State University and is conducted by Tom Swanson, adjunct professor of music.
