Optivation announces online courses for September

BEMIDJI, Minn. (Sept. 2, 2010) — Bemidji State University’s Optivation venture will sponsor several online courses beginning later this month on topics including organizational succession planning, how to become a consultant and project management.

Succession Planning
dates: Sept. 13 – Oct. 10, 2010
Succession planning is a process of developing talent within an organization to meet needs now and into the future. As the workforce is facing retirement of baby boomers, it is important to establish and implement a succession plan. The fee for this course is $300.

Become a Consultant
dates: Sept. 13 – Oct. 17, 2010
Learn how to begin the process of becoming a consultant, strategies for success and potential pitfalls avoid. Learn the importance of building relationships and the importance of selling their value. The fee for this course is $350.

Project Management
dates: Sept. 20 – Oct. 31, 2010
Gain an understanding of Project Management framework, develop a project charter and crafta project management plan using student provided projects approved by the instructor. The fee for this course is $450.

Home Health Aide Course
dates: course starts daily, can be taken at any time.
A Nurses Aide Certification course providing certification for home care visits. This course is restricted to students who are already Certified Nursing Assistants. Fee for this course is $199, with an additional $80 fee for the exam.
