BSU spent the last semester continuing to further its mission of sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Weekly Sustainable Tuesday events were well attended, and included a guided trip to Lake Bemidji State Park, an interactive panel on carbon tax, and the construction of a pollinator garden. Nice Ride and the OPC teamed up with the Sustainability Office to provide 35 bikes around the community. The Sustainability Office also organized a month’s worth of activities centered around Earth Day, ranging from e-waste collection around the community to documentary screenings and panel discussions about important environmental issues. Bemidji’s commitment to sustainability was recognized by the state when Minnesota named us a GreenStep city in January.
