10 students presented at International Education Week

Ten Bemidji State University students presented their experiences with the transformational educational opportunities available to faculty and students through study-abroad programs during International Education Week, Nov. 17-21.

Sponsored by the Office of Academic Affairs and the International Program Center, the week allowed faculty, staff and students who have participated in international opportunities over the last two to three years to share their experiences.

The week offered more than 20 sessions which highlighted a broad spectrum of international experiences and featured students and faculty discussing the benefits of study-abroad programs and the opportunities available to BSU faculty and staff; personal reflections on experiences traveling to places such as England, Switzerland, China and Germany; presentations by students from other nations who are studying in Bemidji, both at BSU and at local high schools; and educational workshops on topics such as the Chinese language, teacher training in Switzerland, and more.

Highlighting the week was a live video conference with BSU students Erika Duley of St. Michael, Minn., and Kendra Kennebeck of Coon Rapids, Minn. Duley and Kennebeck are currently studying in Weifang, China.
