‘I appreciate your help’

Tony is an Exercise Science major with minors in Business Administration and Human Performance who plans to become a physical therapist. A running back on the BSU football team, he also works two jobs related to his field. Receiving the Otto Erickson Memorial Fund Scholarship has allowed him to manage athletics and academics while also working two jobs in his field — in the equipment room of the Physical Education Complex and as a physical therapy rehabilitation aide.

“I can’t depend on my parents to help with the bills,” Tony says. “My dad has been on workers’ comp since 2008 and recently retired. My mom has worked two to three jobs ever since. I have four siblings at home. Each and every scholarship I receive helps pay for books, tuition, groceries and other fees.”
