Tickets on Sale for BSU’s Holiday Tradition, the 47th Annual Madrigal Dinners

Tickets for Bemidji State University’s 47th Annual Madrigal Dinners are now on sale at the Bangsberg Fine Arts Complex ticket office.

Performances of this northern Minnesota Yuletide tradition begin Dec. 4, with shows continuing through Dec. 12. The Madrigal Dinners’ run will include four 7 p.m. shows, on Dec. 4, 5, 11 and 12, with a 5 p.m. performance on Dec. 6. All performances will be held in the Beaux Arts Ballroom in BSU’s upper Hobson Memorial Union.

Tickets may be purchased in person at the Madrigal Dinners box office, located in Bangsberg Hall room 223, or can be ordered online. Tickets are $38, $28 for BSU students with a valid ID, and are available through advance sales no later than Nov. 27. No tickets will be sold at the door.

The Madrigal Dinners cast recreates the atmosphere of a Renaissance feast once held in English castles, bringing to life the regal pageantry and ceremonial pomp of “merrie olde England.” The evening features music from the royal court, minstrels, beggars, cellar keepers, recorders, and the masque “Handel and Gretzky – Tale of Two Kiddies” presented by the King’s Players, while guests enjoy a five-course dinner with seating in the round.

Madrigal Dinners ticket office hours

The Madrigal Dinners ticket office is open weekdays from 8 a.m.-noon and 1-6 p.m. in the Bangsberg Fine Arts Complex. On Monday evenings the office closes one hour early, at 5 p.m.
