OnlineU has ranked Bemidji State University’s online accounting degree program 15th on its list of the top 25 best value programs in the country.
Bemidji State University has been ranked among the nation’s most-supportive campuses for physical fitness by the National Collegiate Fitness Index. The index, which surveyed 107 college and university campuses to measure physical and programmatic resources promoting active living and healthy lifestyles, ranked BSU fifth among responding small public universities.
Bemidji State University music major Lynnea Iverson is one of two students nationwide to be honored with a 2016 Collegiate Professional Achievement Award from the National Association for Music Education.

Bemidji State University has begun a broad-reaching student wellness initiative, The Best You @ BSU, which aims to align a student’s college experience with six dimensions of personal wellness. As part of the initiative, BSU’s Gillett Recreation-Fitness Center has been renamed as the northern end of BSU’s campus continues its transformation into a hub for student services and wellness-related activities.
The United States Senate has confirmed President Obama’s nomination of Lt. Gen. Thomas Waldhauser, U.S. Marine Corps, to head U.S. Africa Command. The Senate heard testimony from Waldhauser during a June 21 confirmation hearing.
