Bemidji State Student Named 2018 Sigma Beta Delta Fellowship Scholarship Recipient

Bemidji State University senior, Spriha Pradhan, has been awarded the Association of College Honors Societies Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Region 4 2018 Sigma Beta Delta Fellowship Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.

Pradhan, who will graduate in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in computer information systems (CIS), has been a member of Bemidji State’s chapter of the Sigma Beta Delta honor society since April 2018.

Sigma Beta Delta is an international honor society for students studying business, management or administration established to recognize the achievements of students with superior records in these programs at regionally accredited colleges and universities. Bemidji State’s Sigma Beta Delta chapter was started in 2009 and invites the top 20 percent of students enrolled in BSU’s College of Business, Mathematics and Science to join the honor society annually.

Each year, the Sigma Beta Delta Fellowship program awards over twenty fellowships to qualifying student members for use in their academic studies. Each local chapter is free to set their own procedures for nominating one new qualifying Sigma Beta Delta member for the award each academic year.

Sigma Beta Delta encourages and recognizes scholarship and accomplishment among students of business, management and administration. Inductees are lifetime members, dedicated to promoting the aspirations of personal and professional movement and a life distinguished by honorable service to humankind.

Bemidji State’s 75-credit CIS degree combines courses in business administration and computer science to create a unique hybrid program that provides a solid technical education in computer science and real-world experience in business and management.
