BSU Society for Human Resource Management Chapter Receives Superior Merit Award

Bemidji State University’s Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Chapter won the SuperiorMerit Award for its excellence in providing superior growth and development opportunities to its student members.

The student chapter merit award program was created by SHRM to support ongoing excellence in student chapter requirements and operations, professional development of its members and the human resource profession in general.

“SHRM is committed to engaging the future leaders of the HR profession—HR and Business students. As we work to shape better workplaces—where employers and employees can thrive together—we are energized by the work our student chapters are doing to encourage students to choose HR as a career path,” Johnny C. Taylor Jr., SHRM-SCP, president and chief executive officer of SHRM, said. “Awarding this Superior Merit Award designation is just one small way for SHRM to recognize and celebrate the big steps the Bemidji State SHRM student chapter has taken this past academic year.”

Awards are based on the number of activities a SHRM chapter completes during a full merit award cycle. This year’s cycle was from April 1, 2018 – Mar. 31, 2019.

The BSU SHRM chapter, along with all other chapters who received awards, will be recognized at the SHRM Annual Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas, Nevada at the end of June.
