Peppermint Oil in American History, BSU Professor Explores a Unique Industry

Dr. Dan Allosso, assistant professor of history at Bemidji State University, authored a book to be published in June of 2020 by Yale University Press. Titled “Peppermint Kings: A Rural American History,” his book discusses the unusual stories of three families in the late 19th and early 20th centuries who had involvement in the peppermint oil industry. It provides insights into the perspectives and concerns of rural people of their time.
