Bemidji State University’s Department of Music will hold on-campus auditions for Fall 2023 music scholarships, February 10–11.

Students interested in auditioning must apply no later than January 20 using forms available on the Department of Music’s website.

Auditions will be held in the Thompson Recital Hall of BSU’s Bangsberg Fine Arts Complex. The auditions are open to instrumentalists and vocalists interested in Bemidji State’s music program, and who will enter or transfer to BSU in the fall of 2023. BSU’s music scholarships are open to all students who wish to participate in music activities and are not limited to music majors. Students interested in any major at BSU may apply.

Applicants are encouraged to submit 5–15 minutes of music that represents the highest level of musicianship and ideally will include two works of contrasting style. Additional instructions are available online for submissions in the vocal, piano, and winds & brass categories.

The department offers an extensive array of scholarships, which includes full-tuition scholarships for Minnesota residents, housing scholarships, many endowed scholarships and numerous cash awards starting at $500. More than 40 BSU students are currently receiving music scholarships.

For more information, contact Dr. Eric Olson, assistant professor of music and scholarship audition coordinator.
