Psychology Faculty Present Equine Therapy Research in Scotland

Faculty from the department of psychology presented research at the International Society on Anthrozoology (ISAZ) conference on June 17 in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Dr. Angela Fournier, professor of psychology, chaired a symposium on the measurement and mechanism of change in equine-assisted psychotherapy and learning.

Dr. Sarah Cronin, associate professor of psychology, and Elizabeth Letson, adjunct instructor of psychology and owner of Eagle Vista Ranch & Wellness Center, presented findings on a collaborative study among BSU, the Eagle Vista Ranch & Wellness Center and the Bemidji Area Boys and Girls Club.

According to ISAZ’s website, its mission is to serve the growing community of scholars and scientists working in the field of anthrozoology (the study of human–animal interactions and relationships) by supporting research, publishing and disseminating new insights and discoveries and promoting the exchange of knowledge and expertise within the field.
