Brown Bag Lunch series offers March 12 session on time wasters

BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Center for Research and Innovation will offer a Brown Bag Lunch Training Series presentation entitled “Time Wasters – What the Heck are Those?” from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at its facility located at 3801 Bemidji Avenue North.

The brown bag lunch session format is a half-hour presentation followed by a question and answer period. Attendance is free and open to all who’d like to learn more about the topic. Participants are encouraged to bring along a bag lunch.

The featured presenter will be Kerry Ross, CRI training coordinator.

This session will examine the top 10 time wasters and provide some ideas for how to reduce or possibly eliminate them. Handouts containing time management tips will be provided.

“Time management is a misnomer,” said Ross. “No matter how you plan, we all have the same 24 hours in our day. The question becomes, how do we plan for and respond to the events that impact our time?”

Ross’s experience includes 10 years in human resource management. She has been a professional corporate trainer for eight years, focusing on human resource topics including leadership and supervisory skills, conflict management, team building, time management, delivering effective customer service and managing change within one’s organization.

The session is part of a series of training and informational presentations being offered by the CRI on the second Wednesday of each month. More information and a full schedule can be found at http://www.cri-bsu.org/BrownbagSeries.html.
