Writing Resource Center

COVID-19 Update: We will be providing online writing consultations from March 30, 2020 until April 29, 2020. Our physical location at A.C. Clark Library is closed until further notice. Instructions for scheduling and joining online sessions are available here.

Welcome to the BSU Writing Resource Center!

Don’t know where to start on a paper? Need help with transitions, paragraph development, or citations?  Come to the Writing Resource Center in Room 326 at the a.c. clark library, OR MEET WITH A TUTOR ONLINE!

THe Writing Resource Center is a place TO work on your writing one-to-one with a trained writing consultant. Consultants focus on feedback rather than correction to help you develop as a writer and student.

Consultants focus first on writing issues that most impact meaning, such as:

  • Generating ideas
  • Developing thesis statements
  • Focusing arguments
  • Organizing ideas

Once these areas are addressed, consultants can also help with:

  • Polishing and revising writing
  • Organizing sources
  • Citing sources

Writing consultants are here to help BSU students at any point in their writing process with writing from any class. In fact, BSU students can bring any piece of writing: class work, personal statements, even letters home.

Make an appointment here, or stop by during our business hours.

Our normal* business hours for Spring 2020 are:

Monday & Wednesday: 9 a.m. to to 4 p.m.

Tuesday &Thursday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Friday: closed

  • The WRC is open for online consultations this 2020 Spring Semester until Wednesday, April 29.
  • The WRC is not open when classes are not in session (e.g., Faculty Duty Days and holidays recognized by the university).
