Bemidji State University PSEO Student and Parent Agreement
Notice of Student Registration Form
Students will work with a parent or guardian, and high school to complete the current Notice of Student Registration Form and return it to the Office of Admissions before May 30 and December 1 for the fall and spring semesters, respectively.
Course Registration
Students will work with the PSEO Advisor to register for courses each semester. Instructions for scheduling a registration appointment with the PSEO Advisor is on the Current PSEO Students webpage. It is the responsibility of the student to schedule, prepare for, and attend this appointment. Students will inform their high school of their course schedule at Bemidji State University.
Drop/Withdrawal
Students will work with the PSEO Advisor to make any course schedule changes and inform their high school of any course schedule changes as soon as they happen. To avoid a withdraw “W” on a transcript, a student will drop a course within the first 5 days of the semester. If a student withdraws from a class after the first five days of the semester, and within the withdraw period, the course remains on the transcript with a “W” grade. A “W” grade does not affect your grade point average. The credits for the class for which a student has received a “W” grade will count as attempted credits. Attempted credits are used when calculating course completion rates.
Textbooks
Purchasing – PSEO funding will only cover REQUIRED materials for courses for which a student is registered for the current semester. Students will cover the cost of any recommended textbooks and materials. The cost of required materials will only be covered when a student orders through the BSU bookstore. One order should be made for required textbooks and materials, and a separate order should be placed for any additional, unrequired materials the student wants. Step by step instructions for ordering textbooks are on the Current PSEO Students webpage.
Return- Textbooks must be returned to the BSU Bookstore at the end of every semester upon the last day of finals for anyone with an on-campus class, or 7 days after the last day of finals for fully online PSEO students. Textbooks must be immediately returned to the BSU Bookstore if a class is removed from a student’s schedule, or if the textbook is no longer “required” due to a faculty revision. Fully online PSEO students must complete the textbook return form located on the Current PSEO Students webpage and include it in the package if mailing the textbooks back to the BSU Bookstore. Students mailing textbooks back to the BSU Bookstore will be required to cover the cost of the postage and track their own shipment. Textbooks must be returned in good shape, as determined by the bookstore. If any of the above requirements are not met, the student will receive a bill for the price of the unreturned or damaged textbooks.
Continuing PSEO Eligibility
Students are required to stay above a 2.0 cumulative grade point average in order to maintain eligbility for PSEO courses at Bemidji State University. This is evaluated each semester. When a student drops below the GPA requirement, they will be contacted and provided with the opportunity to appeal. Courses will be dropped if an appeal is not received by the deadline provided, or if an appeal is denied.
