$1,000 Minnesota Community College Transfer Scholarship

Degree-seeking students who transfer from a Minnesota State or Tribal college with an AA degree, AS degree, or a completed Minnesota Transfer Curriculum, with a 3.5 or higher GPA, are eligible to receive this one-time $1,000 scholarship (fall/spring disbursement). Students must apply for BSU admission by June 1st and register for six or more credits per semester. The number of awards each academic year is limited.

MN Workforce Development Scholarships

The Workforce Development Scholarship offers a $2,500 award for students who received the scholarship at a Minnesota State college and transfer into a corresponding/eligible bachelor’s program. Eligibility requirements are listed here:

  • You must have been awarded the Workforce Development Scholarship at your community/technical college before transferring to BSU
  • You must be enrolled in an eligible high occupational demand BSU program:
    • Nursing (pre-licensure or RN-BS), Community Health, Biology MLS
    • Exercise Science
    • Criminal Justice, Social Work, Addictions
    • Professional Education (Primary and Secondary)
    • Computer Science, Computer Information Systems
    • Biology, Aquatic Biology, Wildlife Biology
    • Environmental Studies
    • Project Management, Construction
    • Applied Engineering, Applied Management, Engineering Technology
  • You must enroll in a minimum of 9 credits per semester and maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher (some major programs require a higher minimum GPA)
  • You must be a resident of Minnesota during the time of the award
  • $1,250 award per semester (maximum of $2500 awarded at the university)

MSUAASF Scholarship

The Minnesota State University Association of Administrative and Service Faculty scholarship deadline has passed. Look for this opportunity again in February 2024.

Alumni Relative Scholarship

New students who are relatives of active BSU alumni can apply for the Alumni Relative Scholarship through the Foundation Scholarship Form (deadline February 15 each year).

Scholarships and Grants for American Indian Students

The BSU American Indian Resource Center (AIRC) curates an excellent list of financial support resources for American Indian students. Check out the AIRC scholarships page here.

Additionally, the Minnesota Indian Teacher Training Program (MITTP) has made grants and mentoring available to students earning a teaching license, or students planning to work in education in roles like school social work, school psychology, and paraprofessional.
