National Institute of Health training required for all human subjects proposals

The School of Graduate Studies would like to remind all BSU faculty and staff that, at the fall semester 2011 Human Subjects Committee meeting, the following motion was presented and approved by the committee:

All BSU faculty and staff who act as a sponsor or advisor for any BSU student’s human subjects proposal will need to complete and submit a certificate of completion of the National Institutes of Health Office of Extramural Research Web-based training course, “Protecting Human Research Participants,” to the Human Subjects Committee. Faculty and staff need to re-take the training every five years to remain current.

This motion was presented to Faculty Senate on December 5, 2011 and was unanimously approved.
