BSU Degree Leads Berg to Career Managing Minnesota’s Fisheries

Baudette native and Bemidji State alum Greg Berg has been promoted to assistant fisheries supervisor for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. He'll help manage fisheries in Atikin County, which involves surveying lakes and streams, stocking fish and working on projects related to fish habitats.

Chris Haley Guides Anglers to Their Bites

When Paul Nelson, owner of Bemidji Area Lakes Guide Service, needed help with some overbooked clients 21 years ago, he called his good friend Chris Haley for help. Haley, who supervises Bemidji State University’s print shop, turned an opportunity to help his friend into steady work as a guide, which now sees him take 10 to 15 trips a year out onto local lakes.
