Former Bemidji State Hockey Rink Lives On in Alum’s Backyard

More than 20 years ago Bemidji State University alum Bryan Hammitt ’95 repurposed materials from the John S. Glas Fieldhouse to create a 120-by-65-foot ice rink at home. Since then, the Hammitt backyard rink has become a beloved staple throughout his small neighborhood.

Lowery Explores and Demonstrates the Presence of The Numinous in Music

Bemidji State University’s Dr. Hilary Lowery, assistant professor of music, will continue the 2020-2021 Honors Lecture Series with a lecture titled “Conjuring the Numinous in Music” in which she will discuss the presence and experience of the supernatural or divine in music.

BSU Receives Over $135,000 Rebate from Otter Tail Power for Energy Improvements

Bemidji State University has recently received an energy efficiency rebate of more than $137,200 from Otter Tail Power Company as part of the company’s Conservation Improvement Program. An additional $9,700 rebate was also granted for Bemidji State’s participation in Otter Tail’s geothermal study.
