Student Senate Mission

We, the students of Bemidji State University (BSU), joined together in a common cause, need a governing body to give advice on the interests of the student body and to represent the student association to all levels of government, administration, faculty and staff.

Current Initiatives

• Raising awareness for mental health
• Affordable tuition and textbooks
• Improve participation and support for student organizations
• More sustainability projects to make the campus greener
• Improving facilities for greater safety and access, particularly more availability of accessible, all-gender restrooms
• Safety specifically involving crosswalks and sidewalk safety during winter
• Less single-use plastic and styrofoam in dining services
• Food quality, options, price and availability on campus
