BSU Student Senate promotes tunnel painting project

BEMIDJI, Minn. (Oct. 27, 2011) — The Bemidji State University Student Association (BSUSA) is encouraging student organizations to paint murals in the university’s underground tunnel system.

The tunnel system is heated and connects the dorm buildings to the rest of the campus. Students use the tunnels during the winter to avoid the cold. The walls are largely bare and the tunnels are identical. The BSUSA, also known as the Student Senate, wishes to change this by having interested student organizations paint murals in the tunnel network. The BSU Math Club is one organization planning to take part in the project.

The Student Senate is the official voice of the students at Bemidji State. It recognizes student organizations, proposes regulations, creates services, initiates policy, represents the interests of students, enforces compliance with policies, and adopts resolutions to benefit the students at BSU.
