Neilson Foundation Offering Funding for Employers to Hire Interns

BEMIDJI, Minn. (Feb. 17, 2012) — Bemidji State University has partnered with the George W. Neilson Foundation to offer a unique opportunity for businesses in the Bemidji area to hire students for internship positions, beginning in the summer of 2012.

The foundation is offering businesses that lie within 30 miles of Bemidji with the opportunity to hire an intern, with the foundation paying up to $2,500 of that intern’s salary. The foundation is funding 10 internships, including one nursing position and nine for any other private business, that could pertain to any major or program offered by Bemidji State University or Northwest Technical College.

Funding will be split equally with 50 percent of the hourly compensation for the intern being paid by the foundation and the other 50 percent paid by the business.
