Dwight Fultz delivers year's first Honors Council Lecture

Dr. Dwight Fultz, associate professor of psychology, will talk about his experiences during a year-long sabbatical in Macedonia to kick off Bemidji State University’s 2013-14 Honors Council Lecture Series.

macedonia_04Fultz’s lecture, “Living and Teaching Abroad: Observations on Macedonian Culture and Education” begins at 7 p.m. Sept. 23 in Hagg-Sauer Hall 112 on the BSU campus.

He will discuss is experiences during a full-year sabbatical spent living and teaching in Macedonia, part of the former Communist nation of Yugoslavia. While in Macedonia, Fultz taught courses in research and development in science and engineering, information technology ethics and psychology at the University for Information Science and Technologies “St. Paul the Apostle” Ohrid.

Honors Council Lectures are open to the public free of charge.

Fultz has taught psychology at Bemidji State for 24 years. His teaching credits include courses in research, measurement, counseling, industrial and organizational psychology and behavioral intervention, among others. He holds workshops and consults with and trains parents and teachers in the community who work with children with attention and behavior problems. He has published research in the area of neurofeedback and neurotechnology-based behavioral interventions.

The Honors Council Lecture Series is hosted by the Bemidji State University Honors Council. The council is the advisory group to the honors program comprised of 12 faculty members from each of the University’s colleges. Student representatives are also elected to the council by their cohorts for one-year terms.
