Bemidji State University will celebrate our 2021 graduates with three (3) in-person events on May 7, 2021 – one for each college.

The ceremony to honor the 222 graduates from the College of Arts, Education and Humanities will kick off the day at 9 a.m. followed by the ceremony for the 341 College of Business, Mathematics and Science graduates at noon. The 450 College of Individual and Community Health graduates will close the day with a 3 p.m. ceremony. Each ceremony will last about an hour and will be live-streamed on Facebook, Vimeo and YouTube.

All events were coordinated following COVID-19 guidelines set forth by the State of Minnesota and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. For more information, please view the Bemidji State University COVID-19 preparedness plan.

Each student will be allowed to invite two(2) guests to one ceremony. The deadline to RSVP to receive the code to get guest tickets is 11:59 PM, April 11, 2021.

On April 12th the Sanford Center will create Ticketmaster promo codes and by the end of the day on April 19th information will be sent out to graduates with the promo codes and instructions on how to retrieve the tickets for up to two (2) guests. The tickets will have assigned seating to maintain COVID-19 protocols.

With this new opportunity, we will be canceling the original plan of sending graduation gift boxes and the proposed photo opportunities during the week leading up to the big day. Continue reading >>

Planning for Commencement

      • Application for Graduation Graduation applications were due on March 4, 2021, to be included in the commencement ceremonies. Students who submit applications for graduation after March 4 will still have their plans reviewed and credential conferred upon completion of degree requirement.
      • Cap and Gown Information – Students may purchase a cap, gown and tassel from the Bookstore. Please call the bookstore at (218) 444-8509 between the hours of 9am and 3pm.
      • Commencement Booklet Information – A copy of the graduate’s names that will appear in the commencement booklet by degree and program will be available in late March. Please review to verify that your name and information are correct. If you have questions, please e-mail:
