Mass medication dispensing drill set for Nov. 16

The Emergency Preparedness Team for BSU and NTC is planning northern Minnesota’s first large-scale mass dispensing medication drill Friday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the John Glas Fieldhouse.

The purpose of the drill is to test how quickly the Emergency Preparedness Team would be able to distribute medication to the campus community in the event of an actual emergency. We need to recruit 500 people to participate in the drill to help simulate conditions that might be found during a real situation.

The Emergency Preparedness Team is asking for the help of all faculty and staff to encourage student participation in this significant event. An all-student email has been sent out with information on how to register to participate in the drill, and posters will soon be up on campus. Please ask students to watch their email accounts for this information.

Anyone interested in participating in the drill can sign up online.

The Emergency Preparedness Team is offering a number of incentives to participate in the drill. Students who participate will be entered into a random drawing for a $500 gift certificate to the Follett Bookstore on campus, three $100 gift certificates that can be used at ARAMARK or the BSU bookstore, and one $100 gift certificate for the bookstore at Northwest Technical College’s bookstore or Baker’s Place cafeteria.
