Dr. Cory Renbarger, director of opera theatre, performed the role of Alfio in the LOON Opera’s production of “Cavalleria Rusticana” on June 9 and 11 at the University of Minnesota Duluth’s Marshal Performing Arts Center.
Composed by Italian composer Pietro Mascagni and first premiering in 1890, “Cavalleria Rusticana” is a one-act opera that explores themes of love and betrayal.
Renbarger previously performed a solo for LOON Opera’s “A Night at the Opera: Opera’s Greatest Hits” in 2019 at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center.
