1/1/26 Lake Bemidji State Park Snowshoe to the Bog
Meet at the Bog Walk Trail trailhead.
10:00am – 12:00pm. Start the new year on the right foot – on snowshoes! Breathe in the crisp winter air and enjoy a peaceful trek out to the Bog Boardwalk as we welcome a fresh start to the year. This is a wonderful way to connect with nature, get some exercise and set a positive tone for the year ahead. We will be snowshoeing out to the Bog Boardwalk, which is a 2-mile round trip. Afterwards, warm up by a cozy campfire, roast marshmallows and have some hot cocoa at the Visitor Center. Bring your own snowshoes or some are available to rent for free at the park office for program participants (first come, first serve). If there in not enough snow for snowshoeing, it will be a hike instead. All ages are welcome. Meet at the Bog Walk Trail trailhead across highway 22.
All vehicles entering the park need a valid Minnesota State Park vehicle permit which is $7 for a day and $35 for a year.

1/10/26 Lake Bemidji State Park Winter Recreation with Artists in Residence
Come on out to Lake Bemidji State Park to try out snowshoes and kicksleds for free and meet and ask questions of our Artists in Residence as they wrap-up their final projects. Light snacks will be provided. All ages are welcome and adult and kid’s snowshoes will be provided. This is a drop-in event and you can stop by any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
All vehicles entering the park need a valid Minnesota State Park vehicle permit which is $7 for a day and $35 for a year.
1/31/26 Lake Bemidji State Park Glow in the Snow Candlelight Snowshoe
5:30pm – 8:30pm. Step into a winter wonderland and experience the magic of the season guided along a trail lined with flickering luminaries as you snowshoe through quiet woods and sparkling snow. Come enjoy the peaceful beauty of a winter night. Stop by the Lavinia Group Camp to warm up around a cozy campfire and at the Visitor Center for live music, hot cocoa and other refreshments. Bring your own snowshoes or a limited quantity will be available to rent at the park office at $6 per pair. Embrace the magic of the season on this unforgettable evening!

2/7/26 Lake Bemidji State Park Beginner Snowshoeing A Winter Adventure
Meet at the Playground.
2:00pm – 3:00pm. Step into winter with confidence! This beginner-friendly snowshoeing program is perfect for adults who want to try a new way to explore the outdoors. Learn the basics of snowshoe use, get tips for walking on different terrains and enjoy a guided walk along the Bass Creek Trail. No experience necessary. Just bring your sense of adventure and enjoy the quiet beauty of winter on snowshoes! Dress for the weather in layers and wear snow boots. Bring your own snowshoes or some are available to rent for free at the park office.
Program depends on snow depth and will be canceled if there is less than six inches. Program will be canceled if the temperature is below zero.

2/14/26 Lake Bemidji State Park Twilight Trails Candlelight Ski
6:00pm – 8:30pm. Come on out to Lake Bemidji State Park for our annual candlelight ski! Glide through the winter woods lit by the soft glow of candles and enjoy a peaceful evening on groomed ski trails. Afterwards, warm up by the bonfire and roast marshmallows at the Dining Hall and stop by the Visitor Center for live music and refreshments. This magical night on the snow is perfect for anyone looking to embrace the beauty of winter under the stars. Skis not provided, participants must provide their own skis.
