The A.C. Clark Library at Bemidji State University is committed to providing accessible resources and services to all our library users. We have worked and continue to work to the best of our ability to be in compliance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA):
“Requires state and local governments to make sure that their services, programs, and activities are accessible to people with disabilities. Title II applies to all services, programs, or activities of state and local governments, from adoption services to zoning regulation. This includes the services, programs, and activities that state and local governments offer online and through mobile apps.”
Library Webpages
The Library has made a concerted effort to ensure that our website is in compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA or higher to support these ADA requirements. Library webpages were tested through WAVE, a Web Accessibility Evaluation tool. There is now a process in place to test new content through WAVE before publishing on our website to ensure continued compliance.
Third Party Content & Platforms
The Library provides access to research and information content through well over a hundred auxiliary web resources, services and databases, both subscription-based and freely available. The content found in these “e-resources” are managed by publishers and companies, or “vendors” who lease access to the Library and by extension, Bemidji State University. Whenever possible, the Library works to negotiate with vendors on the accessibility of their content. A list of current vendors the Library works with, along with their accessibility statements, if available, can be found below.
