The PrePrimary Endorsement is an optional add-on for Elementary Education candidates and results in licensure to teach Age 3 – PreK. The credits can be taken in addition to a student’s plan of study, spread throughout semesters as their schedule permits pending prerequisites.

The PrePrimary Endorsement may also be added to an existing Elementary license for grades K-6.

PrePrimary Endorsement

Take all of the following

  • ED 3670 Foundations of Early Childhood Education (3 credits)
    16 hours of field experience outside of class
    Only offered in the fall
  • ED 3677 Relations and Management in Early Childhood Education (3 credits)
    16 hours of field experience outside of class
    Only offered in the spring

Student Teaching

  • ED 4811 PrePrimary Student Teaching (5 credits)*

*When combined with Elementary Education you will complete a total of 12 Student Teaching credits.

*If you are already licensed and are adding a PrePrimary Endorsement, you will complete an 80-hour practicum in place of the student teaching requirement.
