Optional Teaching Endorsements

Teacher candidates in both the on-campus and DLiTE programs may elect to pursue an optional endorsement in PrePrimary or Middle Level teaching to deepen their knowledge in a specific subject area and teach a broader range of ages. Endorsements typically require an additional 20-30 credits and may result in additional licenses, if all requirements are met.


Middle Level Communication Arts & Literature Endorsement

The Communication Arts & Literature Endorsement is an optional add-on for Education students. It can be added to any full license and results in licensure to teach Middle School English/Communication Arts (Grades 5-8).

Middle Level Mathematics Endorsement

The Mathematics Endorsement is an optional add-on for Education students. It can be added to any full license and results in licensure to teach Middle School Mathematics (Grades 5-8).

The Science Endorsement is an optional add-on for Education students. It can be added to any full license and results in licensure to teach Middle School Science (Grades 5-8).

The Social Studies Endorsement is an optional add-on for Education students. it can be added to any full license and results in licensure to teach Middle School Social Studies (Grades 5-8).

PrePrimary Endorsement

The Pre-Primary Endorsement is an optional add-on for Elementary Education students. It can be added to any existing full Elementary Education (K-6) license and results in licensure to teach Pre-Primary (Age 3-PreK).
