Returning Students

Returning to school can sometimes be daunting, the AIRC has many tools and information to help your return to BSU be the best decision ever!

Your first step is to figure out what your academic status is: Good Standing, Academic Warning and Academic Suspension.

Good Standing

  1. Contact Admissions – update your information
  2. Contact an Advisor – make a plan to graduate
  3. Be Involved! – Studies show that students who are more involved are more successful in class and in life.

Academic Warning

  1. Contact Admissions – update your information
  2. Contact the Business Office to settle any BSU bills that need to be paid.
  3. Contact Financial Aid –to see how your aid will be affected.
  4. Contact an Advisor – make a plan to bring up your GPA and graduate
  5. Be Involved! – Don’t be afraid to ask for help the AIRC has support resources to help you be successful.

Academic Suspension

  1. Contact Admissions – update your information
  2. Contact the Business Office to settle any BSU bills that need to be paid.
  3. Contact an Advisor – talk it out!
  4. Visit AIRC – we have resources and can help you with your plan, it’s a sign of strength and tenacity to ask
  5. Submit your Academic Re-Admission Petition –be honest and have a plan with real access to resources to show how you will be more successful this time!
  6. Talk with Financial Aid to see how this will affect your aid package.
  7. Register for classes and get involved! – We want you here!

Don’t be afraid to ask for help! It is our job to make sure you have options, resources and opportunities to be successful.

Make a connection! We want to know more about you than just your struggles so reach out even when things are going good.

Be Involved! If you join the Council of Indian Students we would love to have you, if your interests lie elsewhere join that Student Organization and let us know about your events we would love to attend and support you.
