BSU Teacher Education Advisory Board

The BSU Teacher Education Advisory Board is now accepting membership interest for the 2026-2027 school year!

If interested in serving on the Advisory Board, complete the following Interest Form by August 31st, 2026: BSU Teacher Education Advisory Board Interest Form

This Advisory Board serves as a key stakeholder group of BSU’s teacher education programs and provides strategic guidance, feedback, and advocacy for continuous improvement of BSU’s programs, ensuring they remain responsive to the needs of candidates, schools, and communities.

The board is capped at 30 members, with representation from Alumni, PK-12 School Principals and Teachers, and Community Representatives. Members serve two-year terms, renewable once.

The board meets virtually once per academic year, with optional additional opportunities to complete an annual survey and serve on subcommittees or focus groups. These groups may include, but are not limited to, the topics below, to further explore and discuss areas of interest with board members and BSU faculty beyond the regular board meeting:

  • Curriculum Review
  • Clinical Experiences
  • Diversity & Inclusion
  • Data/Assessment
  • Program-Specific Plans
  • Long-Term Plans

Serving on the Advisory Board provides an opportunity to help shape the future of teacher education at BSU, build professional service and leadership credentials, and network with educators and leaders statewide. Most importantly, board feedback contributes directly to program improvement efforts that support future teachers and PK-12 students across the state of Minnesota.

Board members will receive annual recognition of their service on BSU’s website and in state and national accreditation reports, as well as a certificate or letter of service for their professional records.
