The Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) is a central computerized system that maintains and manages data about international students (F-1 visa), exchange visitors (J-1 visa), and their dependents during their stay in the United States.

How to Pay

You (or a third party) can pay the SEVIS fee one of several ways, inside or outside the U.S.:

  • Online
  • At a Western Union office
  • By mail

Whichever option you choose, your payment *must* be accompanied by a Form I-901.

NOTE: Citizens of Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria or Cameroon cannot pay the SEVIS fee online. You must pay either by mail or at a Western Union office (if accessible).
