Apply for On-Campus Programs

There are separate application procedures for all International students who plan to pursue a master’s degree while on the Bemidji State University campus.

International students who wish to enroll in an on-campus program must complete the International Studies application form. Visit our International Admissions section for all application requirements or contact the International Program Center with questions.

Apply for Online Programs

International students who wish to enroll in an online master’s program may apply as though they were a U.S. resident. International students who enroll in online courses are eligible for in-state tuition rates.

Please note that graduate students enrolled in an online program are not eligible for an I-20 to study within the United States.

International Transcripts

International students must provide evidence of a bachelor’s or equivalent degree before they will be considered for acceptance into a graduate degree program. Evidence of this degree must be prepared by a reputable, professional credential evaluator. BSU will accept evaluations prepared by any National Association of Credentials Evaluation Services member.

English Proficiency

ALL International students must meet the English Proficiency requirement through one of the following:

  • TOEFL: For graduate students, the minimum score is 550 on the paper-based test or 80 on the Internet-based test. TOEFL test code for Bemidji State University: 6676
  • IELTS: Minimum score for graduate students is 6.5. IELTS is jointly owned by British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations.
