International graduate applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, and they should have graduated with a GPA of 2.75 or higher. Please note that admissions requirements vary by department. Graduate applicants seeking an F-1 visa are not eligible to take online programs.
English Proficiency
Graduate Students must meet ONE of the following requirements for English Proficiency. Please request that official copies be sent directly to the International Program Center at Bemidji State University:

English Language Center – Bemidji | Successful Completion with Letter of Recommendation from the Director confirming that the student is ready for graduate-level courses |

Pearson (PTE) Academic Test | 53 Only scores accessed via the Score Report website are considered valid. |

Conditional Admission to Graduate Programs at BSU
Conditional admission to our graduate school is allowed. If you are academically admissible to a graduate program other than the English language proficiency, you may start with the ELC and continue your graduate program after achieving the English Language Proficiency required by the school of graduate studies.
