Activate your StarID Account

Once accepted to BSU, your StarID is used to log in to the campus wireless networks, all campus computers, ITS services and applications (including MyBSU) and student email.

Activate your Star ID

myBSU

Must be an accepted student in order to access your myBSU portal.

Get comfortable logging into your myBSU portal which gives you access to your student email (Outlook), E-Services, and D2L online classroom. Pay special attention to the username formatting since it will be different for myBSU and email access. Also, your StarID is the two-letter-4-number-2-letter username assigned to you the first time you applied to a Minnesota State school.

FAFSA Application

FAFSA opens October 1st. Priority deadline is January 1stBSU is committed to helping you find a way to pay for college, whether it is through financial aid, scholarships or employment options. Housing Application

The Housing application opens October 1st for accepted students. Submitting your Housing Application early will ensure you get the residence hall you want. We’ll help orient you to the Residential Life process. All new, incoming freshmen students are required to live on-campus for their first year at Bemidji State (some exceptions apply). To read more about this policy, please review the Residential Living Requirement Policy. 

Virtual Departmental Visits

We invite all prospective students to join us for our new Virtual Departmental Visits! Students will get a chance to hear from BSU professors, and will participate in a Q&A session geared toward their area of interest/potential major. We also have sessions available for Undecided students as well! More information with dates/times and registration can be found here.

ACT/SAT Test

Take an ACT or SAT test and send BSU your official scores to be eligible for automatic merit scholarships.

Scholarship Application

BSU’s Scholarship Biography opens mid-November. New and returning students are encouraged to apply! 

December

Commit to BSU & Sign-Up for Registration

Confirm your plan to enroll at BSU by signing up for an Academic Advising & Registration day.

January

Preliminary FAFSA Award Letters

Preliminary financial aid award letters are sent out starting this month. You will be able to officially accept awards in the summer.

February

Find Your Roommate

Within your housing application (in E-Services) you can begin the roommate search process. No need to rush since room selection won’t take place until June.

Academic Advising & Registration (AAR)

This is your last chance to attend an in-person Academic Advising & Registration (AAR) event. If you haven't yet, please confirm your plan to enroll at BSU by signing up for an AAR today!

Confirm Housing

This month you will be able to select your residence hall, room, and confirm your roommate. You will receive an email from reslife@bemidjistate.edu with the date and time your selection window will be available. Login to E-Services to access your housing application and confirm your on-campus living plans.

BSU 101

Be sure to check your BSU email regularly for updates and important information, including a series of BSU 101 videos.

Send Final High School and College Transcripts

Make sure to contact your high school and submit your final high school transcript (after graduation). The final high school transcript is required for continued enrollment at BSU. In addition, if you are a Transfer Student or have any college level courses, please make sure that all final official transcripts are sent to Bemidji State University. 

July

Immunization Form

Please click the following link to submit your Immunization Form. Documentation needed varies based on the state your graduated high school from and the year that you graduated. 

Release of Information

If you need to share information with your legal guardians, be sure to complete the Release of Information form.

Accept Financial Aid

If you submitted a FAFSA, log in to your E-Services and accept your financial aid award letters if you choose to do so.

Pre-Registration for Parking Permit

All motor vehicles that park on campus during the academic year are required to display a current permit for the area in which they will be parked. In order to purchase a parking permit, the vehicle must be pre-registered online or at the Cashiers Office (2nd floor Deputy Hall), (218) 755-2045. 

August

Sexual Violence Prevention Training

The SVPT program provides critical information about responsible behaviors and decision-making regarding non-discrimination, dating and relationships violence, and harassment. You will receive an email at the beginning of August with instructions on how to complete this training. All students must complete this online program early in their first semester to be eligible to enroll in future semesters.

Obtain your BSU Student ID

Your ID card is your lifeline. You can obtain one on campus or submit a request for one.
